How To Get There
Most visitors fly to Bodø or directly to Leknes or Svolvær airports inside the Lofoten Islands. From Oslo the flight takes around two hours. Another popular way is to fly to Bodø and then take the ferry which offers beautiful views during the crossing. In winter some roads can have snow so renting a car with winter tires is recommended if you want freedom to explore. Public transport exists but is limited especially outside the main villages so having your own vehicle makes a big difference.
